Sanskrit Department

About

The Department of Sanskrit was established in the year of 1961, the same year the college was founded. Two courses were introduced – Pre-University Course and B.A Pass Course. Pre-University course was replaced by Higher Secondary Course in 1976.

Salient Features: Two course are being taught since 2001 – B.A. Hons. Course (Sanskrit Advanced) B.A. General Course (Sanskrit General).

  • Medium of Instruction: Bengali, English & Sanskrit.
  • Classroom lectures strictly are following text books. It is mandatory for students to follow text books in classroom.
  • Learning Devnagari script is mandatory.
  • Co-curricular activities like elocution, recitation and staging drama in Sanskrit to develop oratory skill in the language side by side with writing skill.
  • Remedial classes for better assimilation of the subject.
