Hindi Department

About

Hindi, the national language of India is a bonding force to maintain the cultural integrity of the country.  We are immensely happy to open Hindi as one of the Modern Indian Languages (Compulsory) in our undergraduate curriculum from the academic session 2007-08.

  1. Vivekananda College For Women, Barisha, Kolkata-700008, an independent and the only Women’s College in 24 Parganas (South) since 1961 is embracing a vast hinterland of urban and semi-urban status with a multilingual background.
  2. At the time of admission a considerable number of students miss the chance due to non-availability of Hindi as one of the Compulsory Modern Indian Languages.
  3. Apart from this, as far as the practical aspects are concerned, the job prospects for a student with Hindi as one of the subjects are also very bright.
  4. The Language section of no institute can be completed without a Department of Hindi.

The girls in our locality are given a fair chance to study Hindi.  Since a long time back we have nurtured the dream of having a full fledged Language section in our college and now it is fulfilled.
